The origin of Lake Lucerne is shrouded in mystery.  It was home to the Theater of Nations, an island on which many theatrical performances took place. The reality of its birth may lie in an underground spring which still seeps water feeding into it as well as the likelihood that Trail Creek was dammed in such a way years ago that water flowed into it creating a shallow lagoon. Plans to have a fountain in it and other attractive modifications await funding for these projects.
