On Easter Sunday, April 16th, Friendship Botanic Gardens will host a FREE afternoon of egg- hunting adventures among 105 acres of nature trails and formal gardens. Kids ages 0 to 12 and their families are invited to walk the trails and explore the blooming gardens while searching for hundreds of eggs hidden throughout the grounds. The hunt starts promptly at 11am CDT and runs until 1pm (or until all eggs have been found.)-- rain or shine. Be sure to bring your own basket for this “Egg-stravaganza” of Easter fun.
Kids can also check out phase one of the ArcelorMittal Children’s Garden, a newly installed arena for interactive nature-based play experiences created thanks to the support of the ArcelorMittal corporation.

On November 26th, join us in the pristine natural beauty of Friendship Gardens as we host a free celebration of Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Month. Kids will have the chance to embark on a scavenger hunt throughout the gardens and nature trails – find every hidden paper turkey and win a special Thanksgiving prize!
Then, join us in the Native American Heritage Garden and get a firsthand look at traditional Indigenous People’s cooking techniques as our garden educator prepares squirrel, bison tongue, and pumpkin stew over an open flame. Later, an Elder Fire-keeper will perform a blessing on our new “Spirit of the Woods" statue.

Native American Celebration and Thanksgiving Day Turkey Walk
Polish Fest returns to International Friendship Gardens! !! Last year there were over 1000 people in attendance. The Polish / English Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. The Festival goes from Noon-5:00pm.
E-Z Tones Polka Band will play from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and the Wesoły Lud Folk Dancers will perform at 2:00 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. Polish food will be served throughout the afternoon by the Cavalier Inn from Hammond, Indiana and a Beer tent and Family tent will be available. Baker’s Dozen will be selling their Polish pastries. There will be several vendors present, including Robert Tylisz with his wood carving, Pieces of Pottery (Polish Pottery), and several other vendors.
